Exhibit 2019 - Experiential Design, Interactive Design

EXPERIENTIAL EXHIBIT

Committed to Our Mission and Communities was the theme for this corporate annual meeting. The scope of work was to create several experiences throughout the event space that displayed the advances in technology that the company was employing to deliver on their commitments to wildfire prevention and Clean Energy goals.

The lobby served as a networking space; it is here where guests were invited to reflect on the effects of gasoline through a modern art installation. A mural decal of a junkyard was installed, overlayed was a first-person fact about gasoline powered vehicles. In contrast, a clean electric vehicle (EV) was displayed along a second mural graphic of a bright city in branded colors and its own first-person fact about zero emissions. Complete, with a charging station, guests of the meeting were invited to interact with the electric vehicle and learn more about EV’s.

The entrance to the exhibit unveiled an event space lined with a large floor decal of an illustrated map of SCE’s California service territory. Marking the high fire risk areas of the map were large pin-shaped structures that highlighted the concrete steps being taken to mitigate fire risks. Among those efforts were new technologies featured through interactive touch displays where guests could see live iterations of the tech and learn more virtually.

Adding to the full effect of a Clean Energy future was access to experiencing what life would be like with a clean means of transportation. A full-size electric bus and electric medium-duty cargo van were on display for guests to climb aboard and discover its features.

Rising high above the event space was a ‘culture tree’ designed to address psychological safety. Focused on the future, this ‘culture tree’ acknowledged that technological and cultural change must occur; therefore, guests were invited to identify behaviors they also felt needed a transformation. Upon writing these behaviors on note cards, they were hung to create a leaf-like representation and became a measurable metric to address cultural changes.
